Ending The Software Puzzle:
“Using Dashboards to Create One Central View for Job Profitability, Scheduling and Documentation”

Program Overview:

Are you tired of going to multiple places on your computer to access key information? What if you could see real-time jobprofitability, scheduling and documentation all in one central place? When it comes to software for contractors, there’s no one-size-fits-all solution. As a result, contractors are forced to cobble together data pulled from multiple software products, like Excel, QuickBooks, ComputerEase, Timberline, and more, just to manage day-to-day operations. There’s good news for construction contractors: there is a way to put together the pieces of the software puzzle, and it’s called business intelligence.

In this seminar, Michael Marinaro, CPA, MCTS, from Gross Mendelsohn’s Technology Solutions Group will help attendees understand what business intelligence is and how it can be used to create one centralized view for job profitability, scheduling and documentation.

In this seminar, attendees will learn how to:

  • Consolidate data from multiple construction reports in seconds.
  • Get more out of QuickBooks and Excel data.
  • Access and adjust shared documents in the field.
  • Use dashboards to manage jobs, track schedules, and view documentation.

About Our Speaker:  Michael Marinaro, CPA, MCTS is a principal at Gross Mendelsohn Technology Solutions Group. He is a Certified Public Accountant and Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist with over 15 years of experience working with Microsoft software. As a CPA and ERP systems expert, Michael has a knack for pulling practical, ready-to-use information out of complex systems in seconds. With an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP business intelligence tools such as Power BI, SmartList Builder, and Excel Report Builder, as well as SQL Reporting Services, building custom reports is his specialty. Michael frequently shares his reporting expertise with Microsoft users at his firm’s annual Microsoft Dynamics GP User Group, and with local software organizations, such as the Baltimore SQL Server Users Group and the Professional Association for SQL Server.

“Optimize Your Projects’ Work-to-Worker Ratios & Bottom Lines”

As the challenges to find experienced heavy industrial and commercial trades escalate, more and more contractors are treating staffing firms as extensions of their internal HR operations and have, as a result, optimized project work-to-worker ratios, and bottom lines. Find out why highly skilled, safety-minded craftsmen are choosing to work for staffing services. And, why it is likely your impression of the staffing services of the 2000’s may be holding you back from effectively and efficiently meeting your manpower needs.

“Job Site Security – How to do it Effectively and Cut your Budget”

Implementing video surveillance technology in your next project will likely save you time, money, and a lot of headaches. Communication between field employees and upper management is essential for creating a positive safety culture and an effective safety program. Your businesses safety program must be realistic; one that can be applied to real-world construction activities. For a safety program to be successful, a business must have “buy-in” from all levels of the organization. A hands-on and personal approach to safety is a crucial component. Learn: How to get buy in from employees. What is effective communication? Managing employee involvement and attitude. The practical implementation of safety programs.

Keith Brown, Owner – Always Safe Safety Training
“American National Standards Institute’s (ANSI) New Aerial Lift (MEWP) Standards”
How will the “new” Aerial (MEWP) Lift Standards affect your team, your business, and your bottom line? What are the requirements facing Owners, Users, and Operators of Aerial Lift Equipment? Will the implementation of these standards keep your team safe and working? What are the fall protection requirements; how do those requirements relate to aerial lifts.

Vic Engleman, Mid-Atlantic Territory Manager – Pure Safety Group and Guardian Fall Protection

Minimize risk at height through fall protection awareness. A “hands-on” demonstration of the importance of harness selection; as well as perform inspection and fit. Putting the principles into practice. There is equipment available to aid in this process.
